What are DOWs?

Digital Outreach Workers (DOWs) are trained professionals supervised by the Virtual Guardians Foundation (VGF). They use digital platforms such as Twitch.TV to provide confidential, individualized support to young people. This service is offered free of charge.

We are a listening and referral service. If you are in danger or facing an urgent situation, please call 911 or contact the appropriate emergency services.

Actively listen to young people and support them through their challenges.

Provide information and resources tailored to their needs.

Refer young people to professional services when needed.

Here are a few examples of situations where DOWs can help:

  • Harassment and cyberbullying
  • School adjustment difficulties
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Family violence
  • Substance use
  • Sexual identity and gender orientation
  • Relationship difficulties

DOWs are available on our streamers’ channels seven days a week from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., according to each channel’s broadcast schedule.
